Nevada was founded in 1905 before the opening of a railroad that linked Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Urbanization took off in 1931 when work started on the Boulder Dam (now the Hoover Dam), bringing a huge impact due to electricity that made it easier to build the fancy hotels on downtown Las Vegas. This as well contributed to Las Vegas being a family tourist center now classified as a Mega resorts at the Fremont Street Experience as well as Las Vegas multi-billion Strip projects.
